A fibreglass mannequin, depicting the upper torso and head of a female figure. Originally produced for retail display, its smooth, stylised form captures the aesthetic of its era.
Dating from the 1960s, this piece shows a life of active use. The original paint finish has developed a pronounced crackle glaze effect across much of the surface. Areas of paint loss expose the natural fibreglass beneath, particularly around the face and shoulders. This wear contributes to its distinctive industrial aesthetic, while the vibrant painted eyes remain a focal point.
The wear patterns on this mannequin tell a story of a functional object that has been handled and repurposed over decades. A keyhole on the underside of the torso indicates it was once mounted, likely to a stand or another section of a full-body display.
